Stefan Bradl’s last-minute withdrawal from the F.C.C. TSR Honda line-up has led the Japanese team to switch around the riders on its two teams, F.C.C. TSR Honda and Team SuP Dream Honda.

The 2011 Moto2 champion Stefan Bradl now an FIM Superbike world championship rider after five seasons in MotoGP, has announced he is withdrawing from the race for health reasons. The German rider said on Wednesday that he has been advised against flying to Japan on account of an inner ear infection.

Bradl was slated to make his Suzuka 8 Hours debut riding for F.C.C. TSR Honda, together with Randy de Puniet and Dominique Aegerter. The Japanese team has turned to its second team for reinforcements and roped in Australian rider Josh Hook, initially part of the Team SuP Dream Honda line-up with Shinichi Ito and Gregg Black. Josh Hook finished 2nd at the 2015 Suzuka 8 Hours with F.C.C. TSR Honda.

The switch-around has benefited another Australian rider, Damian Cudlin. He will now ride the SuP Dream Honda together with the legendary Shinichi Ito, four-time winner of the Suzuka 8 Hours, and his usual F.C.C. TSR Honda teammate Gregg Black.
