The 39th edition of the 24 Heures Motos opens the season at Le Mans. From Thursday 7 April, the Bugatti circuit will start receiving the 58 teams involved. This first round of 2016 promises to be very open with the arrival of new machines and international riders and the first appearance of a top-class Japanese team at Le Mans.
The 38th 24 Heures Motos took place under the sun of the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans and crowned the SERT whose official Suzuki remained in the lead since the sixth hour. Behind the winning crew, the battle raged at all levels and offered a wonderful show to the 70,500 spectators.
While the SERT on to its eight-lap lead over the SRC Kawasaki and the Junior Team Le Mans Sud Suzuki has climbed into third place, Honda Racing retired due to mechanical issues.
The fight for the lead is extremely close as after four hours, Honda Racing, the SERT Suzuki and the Monster Energy Yamaha YART are on the same lap, with the Honda holding an advantage thanks to its remarkable fuel consumption.
An intense competition has enlivened the first eight hours of the 38th edition of the 24 Hours Motos. Many twists have allowed several teams to take the lead under the Le Mans sun, in front of a large audience. At the end of the first intermediate FIM EWC ranking, it is SERT who takes the overall lead.
The SRC Kawasaki beat fierce competition from rival works teams to claim top spot on the grid for the 24 Heures Motos in Le Mans , which kicks off tomorrow at 15:00 on the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans.
Aside from the official teams, many others take part in the FIM EWC. Even if they do not have the same performances or goals, they form an essential part of this championship.
