The competitiveness and sporting spirit displayed by Team 18 Sapeurs Pompiers for the entire duration of the 8 Hours of Oschersleben won them the Anthony Delhalle EWC Spirit Trophy in Germany.
Moto Ain made a clean sweep in Germany, claiming the €4,000 prize for the winner of the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy, the Superstock win and the FIM Endurance World Cup. Moto Ain came in ahead of Wójcik Racing Team 2 and BMRT 3D Maccio Racing. The EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy offered a total purse of €20,000 to the 10 fastest Dunlop-shod privateers in this race.
After taking a podium in the FIM Endurance World Cup in the past two seasons, Moto Ain claimed victory in the class restricted to Superstock teams. The French team wrested the win at the finish, crossing the line in 4th place at the 8 Hours of Oschersleben.
F.C.C. TSR Honda France won the day at the 8 Hours of Oschersleben, ahead of Team SRC Kawasaki France (who now lead the FIM Endurance World Championship) and VRD Igol Pierret Expériences. With a 4th-place finish, Moto Ain claimed both the Superstock win and the FIM Endurance World Cup.
In 7th place 3 hours from the finish, with their main rivals currently out of the points, Moto Ain stand a very good chance of winning the FIM Endurance World Cup.
An Endurance team comprises three riders, and its fate is tied to their wellbeing. Teams sometimes have to be rejigged as a result of a crash, an injury or availability issues.
Honda Endurance Racing made a splash in the second qualifying session at Oschersleben. The British team managed to lift themselves to 2nd position on the grid, between pole-sitter Team SRC Kawasaki France and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team.
Despite the best efforts of Honda Endurance Racing, who moved up to 2nd position on the grid, Team SRC Kawasaki France kept the upper hand and will start from pole tomorrow at the 8 Hours of Oschersleben.
