After a particularly tough Bol d’Or, two teams are still in the running for the 2021 world crown. Yoshimura SERT Motul, the winner of the Bol d’Or, have taken back the lead in the FIM EWC standings and are 36 points ahead of the independent team VRD Igol Experiences. The battle for the FIM EWC title will play out between the factory Suzuki and the privateer Yamaha on 9 October at Most in the Czech Republic, where 50 points are up for grabs.
The independent French team swept the deck at the Bol d’Or. Third past the finish line and the Superstock winner, BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers lifted the FIM Endurance World Cup reserved for the Superstock class.
No Limits Motor Team claimed their first EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy win. The Italian team – the third Superstock at the Bol d’Or – pocketed the €7,000 prize awarded for the 24-hour race. OG Motorsport by Sarazin and Maco Racing Team were the other two teams on the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy podium at Le Castellet.
The factory Suzuki team – the reigning champion and winner of the 2019 edition of the Bol d’Or – won a brilliant victory ahead of Yamaha-mounted Moto Ain and the amazing Kawasaki-mounted Superstock team BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers.
Three hours from the finish, Yoshimura SERT Motul still have the upper hand on the Paul Ricard circuit. Moto Ain seem firmly established in 2nd place and set for their first EWC podium. Three Superstock teams are battling for 3rd place.
The factory Suzuki team has been leading since the start of the race. After intermittent showers throughout the night, Yoshimura SERT Motul are ahead of Moto Ain and BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers, the leader of an impressive group of Superstock teams.
8 hours into the race on the Paul Ricard circuit, Yoshimura SERT Motul are still in the lead ahead of YART–Yamaha Official EWC Team and ERC Endurance-Ducati. BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers, the fastest Superstock, are in 6th place.
In the warm up session before the start of the Bol d’Or at 3pm today on the Paul Ricard circuit, Yoshimura SERT Motul once again took the lead ahead of the five other factory teams.
The factory Suzuki team dominated the second qualifying session and set a new record on the Paul Ricard circuit. Yoshimura SERT Motul were ahead of YART–Yamaha Official EWC Team and BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team. In Superstock, Team 18 Sapeurs-Pompiers CMS Motostore took the lead.
