FIM EWC on Spain’s Garage TV

06/03/2017 10:20

Eurosport Events and Garage TV have signed a broadcast agreement. The Spanish motor sport channel will broadcast the Pit Stop segment after each FIM EWC race in 2017.

Garage TV, a channel dedicated to motor sport featuring both two and four wheelers, will bring the FIM EWC world championship to Spanish TV audiences. Garage TV, which has a viewership of 15 million, is to broadcast the 23-minute Pit Stop segment after each of the FIM EWC races in 2017.

Next event on the FIM EWC calendar: the 24 Heures Motos on 15 and 16 April 2017.

Australian rider Alex Cudlin is Vincent Philippe and Etienne Masson’s new teammate. He will be in the saddle of Suzuki Endurance Racing Team’s GSX-R 1000 for the rest of the 2016-2017 season.

60 teams will be at the start of the 40th edition of the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans on 15 April. The 24 Heures Motos is the second round of the FIM EWC 2016-2017 championship, and it promises to be a mega edition in many respects: new machines, the arrival of MotoGP riders, and a strongly international slant with 2 Japanese teams, 12 nationalities and 9 manufacturers will feature in the starting line-up.

After a season without racing, National Motos will once again be at the start of the 24 Heures Motos on 15 April, with the Honda #55 in the capable hands of Emeric Jonchière, Nicolas Salchaud and Japanese rider Hikari Okubo, Jules Cluzel’s World Supersport teammate.

Jules Cluzel will be on the starting grid at the 24 Heures Motos. This follows the arrival of Mike Di Meglio at GMT94 Yamaha, and the return of Randy de Puniet to Team SRC Kawasaki. MotoGP riders are increasingly swayed by the particular charm of the FIM EWC.

Endurance has lost one of its most endearing champions. Anthony Delhalle died today in Nogaro where he had started two days of testing with the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team.

The FIM EWC line-up includes two historic teams: SERT, the French factory-backed Suzuki team that has been a fixture on the world’s circuits since 1980, and Team Bolliger Switzerland – a private Swiss team, which made its first foray into Endurance in 1982.
