Maco chance makes Kovacs Hungary for EWC success
Hungarian rising star Bálint Kovács has been handed the chance to demonstrate his pace and potential over a full-season campaign in the FIM Endurance World Championship in 2023 with Maco Racing Team.
Kovács made a trio of stand-in appearances in last season’s EWC with sixth place in the Bol d’Or as part of the Yamaha-powered Maco line-up the highlight.
And that performance helped to secure a full 2023 EWC bid with the Slovak outfit, starting with the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans in France from 13-16 April.
Kovács was announced as a Maco EWC rider during a press conference at the István Széchenyi University in Győr, Hungary, yesterday (Wednesday). He will also race for BCC-alpha-Van-Zon-BMW in the IDM (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft) German Superbike Championship.
