New Team LRP Poland recruits and a new role for EWC’s ‘Two Jobs’ Lewandowski

Team LRP Poland will count on two new full-time recruits when the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans hosts the 2023 FIM Endurance World Championship opener in April.

At the same time, Bartłomiej Lewandowski, Team LRP Poland’s rider and owner, will have switched to a reserve rider role, while also continuing his key management duties.

Having impressed on his first outing for Team LRP Poland in last June’s 24H SPA EWC Motos, 33-year-old Dutchman Pepijn Bijsterbosch returns for a full-season Formula EWC campaign alongside Germany’s Dominik Vincon, 31, a Team LRP Poland member since 2019.

Austrian Julian Puffe, a 28-year-old from Austria, is another new full-time recruit having raced for Team LRP Poland in 2021, three years after he won the Superstock category in the Bol d’Or.

Explaining the decision for Lewandowski to step back from a lead role in Team LRP Poland’s rider line-up, a statement from the BMW-powered squad read: “Bartek is not only the founder and boss, but also the player and manager of our team from the very beginning. This will not change in the 2023 season either, but this year [he will be in] a slightly different double role.

“Bartek will be going to the track with a green band, and his many years of experience at FIM EWC will help us to set up the motorcycle quickly and efficiently during training. At the same time, Bartek will act as a manager in the garage and during the races he will support our young team of mechanics even more, bringing the whole crew closer to the dream.”

Following its flurry of rider announcements, Team LRP Poland is preparing to travel to Spain tomorrow (Thursday) for its first 2023 test.
