After a crash-hit 24H SPA EWC Motos in 2022, JMA Racing Action Bike experienced a far less eventful return to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for round two of the 2023 FIM Endurance World Cup last month. 

It was also a far more successful Belgian outing for the Suzuki-powered French squad with Julien Bonnet – a late replacement for Côme Geenan – Matteo Giacomazzo and Takeshi Ishizuka combining to finish ninth of the Dunlop Superstock Trophy riders in 18th overall with support from fourth rider Christopher Thion.

A Facebook post from the team following the event read: “What a blessing after working so hard that our goals are finally rewarded. Despite a complicated finish of the race with a chain break we finished this race in ninth place in stock and 18th overall. A great result after our abandonment at the 24 Heures Motos. Thanks to all the staff for the work done, to all our partners without whom nothing would be possible and to our riders for your performance.”

With next month’s 44th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race a round of this year’s FIM Endurance World Championship only, JMA Racing Action Bike’s next scheduled EWC appearance is September’s Bol d’Or, the third and final FIM Endurance World Cup event of the season.
