Wójcik Racing Team’s Formula EWC and Dunlop Superstock Trophy category squads gave their all in their respective bids for success in the FIM Endurance World Championship season-deciding Bol d’Or last weekend.
Although the #77 Formula EWC Yamaha was retired with an oil system failure having dropped out of contention with an electrical issue, the #777 Superstock Yamaha finished fifth in class thanks.
But with the Polish squad missing out on third place in the final FIM Endurance World Championship for Teams on countback, British rider Danny Webb described the situation as “bitter-sweet”.
Webb, who was partnered by Kamil Krzemień and Kevin Manfredi and reserve rider Jurand Kuśmierczyk, explained: “The result is not too bad, it’s good to finish a 24-hour race but we know we’re capable of more and we had good pace throughout the race. Kevin had amazing pace even late on so it’s bitter-sweet, we’re happy but not happy.”
