Eurosport Events Double Header
The inaugural Races of Malaysia is a super-charged double-header festival of motorsport featuring action from the FIM EWC – Endurance World Championship for motorbikes and the FIA WTCR – World Touring Car Cup presented by OSCARO.
Where and when?
It takes place from 13-15 December at the Sepang International Circuit near the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
Who’s taking part?
Some of the best endurance riders in the world will contest the 8 Hours of Sepang on Saturday 14 December with leading international touring car drivers tackling the three races that make up FIA WTCR Race of Malaysia on Sunday 15 December.
What’s up for grabs?
While the FIM EWC riders will bid to win the first running of the 8 Hours of Sepang, the FIA WTCR / OSCARO titles for drivers and teams will be decided during the season super-finale.
How does it all work?
Track time is effectively split between the two- and four-wheel competition. Wednesday and Thursday are for FIM EWC competitors, the FIA WTCR drivers will be on track on Friday, Saturday is all about the 8 Hours of Sepang with Sunday focused on WTCR Race of Malaysia with races during the day, at dusk and at night under the Sepang International Circuit’s state-of-the-art floodlight system.
So it’s action and entertainment all the way?
As well as the FIM EWC and FIA WTCR events, Races of Malaysia will include rounds of Asian Formula 3 and Formula 4 South-East Asia. There will also be track and grid walk opportunities, displays, driver autograph sessions and other attractions.
