The press was invited to meet key players of the 1st edition of the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring on Wednesday afternoon to get the ball rolling at the 4th round of the FIM EWC.

At a press conference with Slovakia’s public broadcaster RTVS and the trade press earlier today, François Ribeiro, Head of Operations at Eurosport Events and promoter of the FIM EWC, Pavel Čulík, CEO of Slovakia Ring and Peter Smižík, Chairman of the SMF (Slovak Motorcycling Federation), emphasised the importance of this new event on the FIM EWC calendar in a country with a passion for motorsport.

Suzuki Endurance Racing Team and Moto Ain CRT (the leaders of the provisional EWC and Superstock standings) and the Slovak teams and riders were also present, and had high praise for the Slovakia Ring. The circuit’s fast corners and more technical stretches have found favour with the riders.

The first timed tests will start tomorrow (Thursday) at 10am CEST, while the first qualifying will get underway at 3pm.
